Seven Little Birds is the story of seven cousins, their childhood and how it all ended with the death of their grandmother. Their grandmother passed in May of 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic, and they were unable to grieve together and their relationship with their families and each other was damaged because of that missing piece. Their grandmother was the center of the family that held everything together.

This project is the story of the seven cousins going through grief separately, together and ultimately figuring out how to move on and reconnect with their childhood selves. This story is for anyone who has lost someone and has had trouble finding their way in the world without that person. It is a story of love, loss, and ultimately friendship that endures everything.

This project was awarded a 2022 College Photographer of the Year Award for Multimedia Online Storytelling.
This project was awarded a 2023 Hearst Audience Engagement Award for Innovative Multimedia Storytelling.
